Law 10.

10.08.2009

From the 48 Laws of Power.

Law 10.

Infection: Avoid the Unhappy and Unlucky

You can die from someone else’s misery – emotional states are as infectious as disease. You may feel you are helping the drowning man but you are only precipitating your own disaster. The unfortunate sometimes draw misfortune on themselves; they will also draw it on you. Associate with the happy and fortunate instead.

layman's terms, don't let that drowning bitch take you down with her!

LOL!This Law is real shyt.
I have a friend (who I don't wanna shine too much light on her negativity even now) but EVERY phone conversation we have she is complaining/whining about work, men, or whatever. I screen her calls to death and don't answer 90%of the time. Sad. I think these type of people actually enjoy playing the victim OR being drama queens.

This is similar to that Secret book- law of attraction.

I really believe in that. You are who the hell you think you are. Our minds RULE our everything.

Some people realize that they are completely surrounded by negative people, but because of their fear of being alone, they passively accept their situation, and sort give up and be willingly taken down.... law 10...awesome.

OMG....if this isn't the TRUTH i don't kno what is girl!! I have/had "friends" that would use my ears as trash cans to dump all of their drama & problems in. It took me awhile to realize that their negative outlook on life was starting to affect me.

I heart your blog btw and cannot wait til your book comes out. I'm always checking out your blog.

so sad but so true. i recently distanced myself from two of my closest friends because they were in unhealthy relationships and i swear it was rubbing off on me. i was sticking with this raggedy ass nigga that didn't deserve me because i figured he wasn't treating me as shitty as my girl's were being treated by their men...stupid, i know. and ever since i've been away from them things have been great. i cut him out of my life, been focused on school, doing my thing at work, reconnecting with my father's side of the family, and i've just been overall happy!

question: what do you do if the unlucky/unhappy person is a family member? i swear my ENTIRE family wallows in self-pity and misery. they wonder why i don't interact with them...all they do is tear each other down!
