In the locker room the other night, me and some other girls were discussing the super duper older than dirt question: “is all money good money?”
The answer is easy for me. Of course it isn’t. if you have to lie, cheat, steal or lose your identity for the almighty dollar, then that money your sacrificing your morals for is going to bring you a shit load of problems, (according to karmic energy). Someone then chimed into the discussion and said, ”Yes all money is good money, its what you do for it that is bad.” to me, this just sounds like someone rationalizing suspect behavior. But im sure people think stripping = bad money, so I guess it is all relative.
But when I think of bad money, I think of breaking a law(s) or hurting someone(s) INTENTIONALLY. It actually saddens me that people consider certain behavior commendable because the money is “helping” them. Like, the example of robin hood was used, “steal from the rich, and give to the poor”. well, when you put it that way, lol, of course people will say that’s bad money with a good purpose, right? But who says the rich deserve to be robbed? Having money doesn’t make you wrong, so why would you take from people who may have earned their money rightfully, just to give to people who have not, or can not? I don’t know. I guess we are all guilty of turning a blind eye to money, especially in this economy, which almost requires TRAUMA counseling.
Examples of “bad” money? Me dancing for the assumed dope boys in the club, and gladly accepting their BAD money, not giving a shit who’s drug habit they are enabling, as long as im getting my money for services rendered..sounds awful right?

I agree with the statement made that money is all good, but how you get it can be bad. Money truly only has as much value as we give it, and we give it a lot. The same can be said about any material thing.

i'm kinda speechless right now about the bad money examples...when u said u accept money from dope boys...it's like if you work at the grocery store and u know a dope boy, do u stop him from purchasing groceries? NO ! so bad money for me is the money that comes from me doing bas things.
I don't beleive in bad money good money. I believe in bad behavior and good behavior. If you do anything to the fullest extent, you should be paid for your time no matter what it is. Money is an object not a life form that can be judged. The people who make it by any means necessary will answer for it on judgment day. Who are we to judge other people?
Credit Card Scams .. Fucking up someones credit so you can have your prada-louie-gucci-ysl etc etc ..

Bad money [to me] is dope money. I try not to knock anyone for what they choose to do because I don't know their situation. But on a personal note, I used to date a dope boy, who didn't care whose mother/father/auntie he was helping to kill slowly. Drugs are bad, bottom line. I finally grasped this, when he sold dope to my aunt. It hurt. We got into it bad, and soon after - we split. I have seen people that are SO bad off. And when I hear of them overdosing, I couldn't help but think "..if he WOULDN'T have sold them that rock, maybe they would be alive ONE MORE DAY, and change their ways." I think anytime you have to rob, steal, hurt someone, or take what is not RIGHTFULLY yours - like you mentioned, qualifies as "bad money". Nobody's perfect, though.

on the robin hood thing: is it bad money because it was stolen or was it bad money because it belonged to a rich person? there are so many angles to that question that it'll never truly be answered. to me, its only bad money if you lose yourself to get it. and losing yourself is something only you can allow to happen. so there are probably girls working with you that may dance for the same dude that just tipped you, but the money he gives them is all bad, cuz their minds are totally f*cked up. you, on the other hand, are not (or at least you dont seem to be from what i've read on your blog). oh and congrats on the publishing deal!

i consider robbing or killing for money is the wrong money. drug money .. ehh. so many people sale it's becoming a true profession. money is a drug by itself. if you go thru extreme measures (robbin, killin, saling drug) in order to get it, its "bad money"

Like others have said money is what you make it and folks depending on which end of the spectrum they're in will rationalize anything. Safe made a great point above. Judging from this post, you know it's bad but that's your job and they're a customer, so you've taken the stance as the store owner. No reason to feel bad I guess but then again I'm kinda laissez faire when it comes to some drugs.

People keep sayn "dope" money..WHY is that bad??? Bcuz the government doesn't get a piece if the pie ?*in SOME cases* bcuz that's the ONLY reason it's illegal!!!.....I don't think "dope" money is bad bcuz no1 put a gun 2 the fiends head & said take this.
Bad money to me is money that is received from "bad" situations....rob/steal, if u're a man/woman & getn $ from ur "partner" knowing damn well they not even feeding their kids..ish like that.
Good money... bad money... all the ish is green. some may prefer bad money because its easier to get and spend. Bad money to me is stolen money.
I believe that pretty much all money is BAD only because money has hit so many peoples hand from the church going grandma to a ruthless drug dealer. I do believe tho that its the way you get your money or handle your money that makes it bad or not. I dont believe you dancing for money is bad because your not hurting no one in the act your doing what makes you money. but if you were a hitman or something of that nature than yes your money is bad money
